If you enjoy going to a church, being a member, being faithful with your tithes, and being treated like garbage as the result of local leadership that is dishonest and lacks any integrity in what they say or do, then this is the place for you.

This is a church that has lost its way due to a few family members that have represented the leadership of the ministry at the local level that only serve based on entitlement.

During my time as an attendee/member of the church, I have seen some very unethical things such as fixing a raffle at the annual Easter Egg hunt by removing registration forms from the drawing by someone that represents the church as a board member. Something to keep in mind when they ask for donations for community events in the future.

In addition, this church has had some issues with the misuse of others intellectual property for the marketing of their own events including misrepresentation of company logos and motion pictures. Decisions made by someone whom as a former HP employee should have known better in the first place. As an employee you are responsible for the protection of corporate patents as well as complying with copyright laws whether they are company property or not (as a contractor for HP, I had to go through the training material every year). I guess after no longer having a badge in the company he didn't see a problem in stealing others work for their own interests.

This church supports a youth leader who certainly lacks the maturity of being one (who as the media director produces every video with himself in a role reinventing Chris Farley) choosing to be the bully by barking orders to pray to those he serves which has carried over in his role as a substitute teacher in the public school district as well. The success of this church depends on great leadership within the youth ministry and those that can't should be removed to replace those who can because a bad youth leader produces negative church growth.

The local pastor is quick to apologize for their bad conduct (after all it is his family) but certainly forgets that with apology comes change resulting in an insincere answer without correction especially when it is covering for entitled family members in your ministry that don't know how to conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner in the first place.

This is a pastor who can find a way to bring up his disagreement about global warming in most Sunday services to an area that certainly contradicts the message thanks to a great higher educational system in the area that supports scientific agenda dismissive of this attitude (a pastor that isn't a part of the local alumni in the first place). A pastor that acts this carnal from the pulpit becomes the antagonist that doesn't really express Godly wisdom in the first place.

This is a church that misuses the gift of prophesy since the leadership has taken on such a carnal role in the local ministry that there is no way to stand by and call their appointment a Godly action. This local church is led by a pastor who states from the pulpit "doesn't believe in opening fortune cookies after dinner" but doesn't see the problem of creating them. There had to be a good reason why the board at Sweet Home Assembly of God didn't elect him as the pastor. Perhaps that is the real prophesy within this local ministry rather than bringing the dirty laundry into another town.

Hopefully the main leadership in Hawaii can someday step off the island and clean up their local representation of the ministry represented by The Assembly of God ministry known for collecting the dues but never good about cleaning up their own messes. Thankfully there have been changes made within the A of G ministry in Corvallis and Albany that will eventually come to this area to make things right someday.

The next time you seen those plastic yellow signs that are scattered on our streets and sidewalks a week or more after the event is finished, then you see firsthand on how this church really respects the community by its own litter left behind.
